Flying Fijian tickets. Brought to Fiji in the late nineteenth century and originally played by soldiers, rugby union was officially founded on the island almost thirty years later. The first rugby union team was formed solely by European players. Two years later, however, a native team was formed and so started rugby union on the island, which would go on to become the main sport in Fiji. Fiji is represented in the rugby union by the Fiji national rugby union team, known most commonly as the Flying Fijians. The players sport uniforms that consist of white shirts with black shorts and black and white striped socks and play in the Pacific Nations Cup annually. Before every match, Flying Fijians perform their Haka, which is named the Cibi, to show their opponents their fiery passion. The Cibi dates all the way back to war times and is very important in Fijian Rugby tradition.
