James Blunt - The Army Years
It may seem strange to think that the singer of "Goodbye My Lover" was a soldier, but that in fact is true. James Blunt reached the rank of captain in the Household Cavalry Regiment and also volunteered to join the NATO forces in Kosovo in 1999. Blunt took his guitar with him to war and had it strapped on the outside of his tank. He would occasionally perform to troops or the locals of Kosova and it was during his time in Kosovo that he wrote his famous anti-war single, "No Bravery".
